Given the importance of Christian's white shoes in the pilot as well as the shoes that Jack put on Locke in the coffin, I felt it necessary to mention this observation.

In the very first locke-centric episode, the one where we discover his former handicapped status. Just after the crash, Locke has no shoes on... He has to put on his shoes... Important? Maybe, maybe not...

Sure it could be that the show-makers needed us to see him wiggle his toes and with shoes, that might be tough... ...

I would like to know if anyone here has heard all the numbers when Ajira flight 316 crash landed on Hydra Island in episode 9 of season 5?

The reason I'd like to know is because I couldn't hear it, maybe someone else can. Because it is very important.. The numbers are being broadcasted to the outside world on a frequency that only Alvar Hanso's company knows. Why? Because it let's them know if the experiments on the island succeeded in altering the outcome of mankinds demise.

Then in the last 8-or-so minutes of Walkabout, you get a close-up when she's finishing her conversation with Jack. The ring is visable then and doesn't hang below her neck line...the chain it's on even looks different then the one she is wearing in the Pilot Epis. What up with that?

Check out this video, it's from the Pilot Epi...

and with the ring...(around min. 1.23)

Locke's father made it sound like he was in Talahassee and then zoom he was on the Island. Was the 'magic' box ever expanded upon by Ben or any of the Others after that?

About Ben:

To what is he referring? What can Ben do? Also, why can't Ben just kill Widmore or Widmore kill Ben? Are these guys subject to a set of rules as well?

I've been pondering this question, I'm sure it has been discussed before but I don't recall if there was really something in the show to explain it or just theories we thought up (if you have any I'd love to hear them too)

Also does the Lampost Dahrma Station have something to do with it ...

It was awesome when we first saw the back of the statues side during the flashes & totally awesome when we saw its profile (basically). I keep thinking that Jacob is from that time because he chooses to reside at the base of the statue and he threads a tapestry with the eye of Ra on it.
Some philosophy to ponder that is highly relevant to LOST:

1) Do you believe in a Deterministic universe? This essentially means the following: do you believe that future events are purely a product of the past...as if prior events are leading to an inevitable future? This can also apply to individuals. Does a human life "play out" according to one's childhood and life experiences, destined for future experiences created from past ones. In other words, are we so entrenched ...
