| Why did Charlie tape is fingers and write "FATE"? Boredom?, did it have to do with knowing they would be left on the trail when he was kidnapped by Ethan?, or was it something else? ...and why did he change it to "LATE" later on? He did this and then the camera pans over to Claire rubbing her belly...but the baby wasn't late...what did it mean?  | |

| You will also notice that Charlie has no tape on his left hand fingers when he writes that it is not Penny's boat on his palm and places it on the glass portal (it's in the Gallery). Why and when did he ditch the tape on his fingers? | |

| Good point! As far as know, he only ditches L and A on the trail when they were kidnapped, so that would leave FTE... | |

| Some types of drugs cause stains on your fingers. He might have been wearing the tape to cover that up, and once he got off the drugs he decided to remove,
As for the words, I think he wrote them while bored, but something in his subconsciousness told him it was fate landing on the island and that people were late coming to the island, and so that's what he wrote. | |
