takes over slowly, I realized Walt's voice got stronger each time he visited the island after disapearing from the raft. He has been possesed by MM.

Anybody have any ideas of how Sayid got the "sickness"? Dogen and Lennon seem to know to test him when he is raised from the dead so this couldn't be the first time they have seen this happen. In fact Dogen tells Jack that his sister (Claire) is also infected. I guess we should now assume she was infected when she was in the cabin.

Remember before they dunked Sayid, the water was not clear. Could he have gotten it from the water? I don't know...I'll have to go back & watch to see when he may have gotten infected.

I don't think it's an "infection". It's whether or not your soul is going to shift to good or bad.

I think Ben,Claire and Sayid were all dead or on the verge when they were resurrected by the island or hot tub of life. This is dangerous because it can cause you to be infected with darkness.

mind boggling for sure. but i will wait for a few more episodes because i fear i will be completely wrong. not enough info just yet, but i have all the questions you guys have. i think next week will be a biggie

Claire was alive in the Cabin. She must have been mortally injured in a similar way as Sayid and taken to the Spring and was healed and something went wrong.

Dying on the Island can cause you to be "claimed" ... the Spring is not the cause of the infection. The Spring heals those who are dying.
