the missing 3 years

We all know that the oceanic 6 left the island for 3 years b4 returning, we also know that after the time skips stopped the show jumped forward 3 years. Now it didnt just jump forward 3 years for the dharma guys, in the show the present timeline also jumped to the point where the new plane crashed. Question, what happened during those 3 years in the present time on the island ?. All we know is that the others seem 2 have compleatly abandoned the barracks since Ben left and (and this may not be true but it is just my opinion) the mystery man seems to have found a way to escape his cabin prison due to someone making a gap in the circle of ash surrounding it as we saw in the last ep. will we get to see these missing 3 years in s5 ?

I don't think we will see much of the three years. I am almost certain we will be seeing two time lines playing out unilaterally. For them to show us three years of catch up just will not fit in the few short episodes we have left

I agree with Velleri24 I do not think we are going to see much of the 3 years The producers did go into what happen just brieffly I dont think they are going to go back
