it seems that after something significant happens a time flash occurs. i think mysterion was causing the time flashes.

I think MM (Mysterion?) controlled the flashes - duration and the time location. See my theory:

I think the significant things were all what MM wanted, then he flashed them again, ASAP, to prevent problems.
