Why does the Dharma van still look new?

If they Losties flashed from 77 back to the present, does that mean the van flashed too? If so, why didn't other large objects flash before?

anything with blood, sweat and/or tears on it flashes ... anything with the DNA of the Chosen flashes.

on the subject of DNA : DNA performs a function of duplication, using RNA as the key.

Genetically it is possible for duplicate bodies to be created and magically it is possible to divide the soul if you have murdered someone [according to Harry Potter books]
Jack and friends have that in common ... they have all murdered people, though some have attempted to justify it ... Jack has killed people who shot at him .... it is murder to kill 3 or 4 people randomly just because they shoot at you ...

long story short, Jack and friends fit all criteria for having their bodies duplicated into another time-stream and have a part of their soul placed in those other bodies for a purpose ... when they have learned their lessons, the alternate reality will cease to be, for they will reintegrate into their whole selves .... if you listen to what the creators of the show have said about the time stream integration before the end of the show, in this light, you can see how this is possible.

remember how Charlie said to Hurley off island that he was dead but he was there. is this the Charlie that we see not dying but landing in LAX?

I bet so....I know Hurley can see dead people, but he was not the only one to see Charlie, his Hospital-mate told him Charlie was there...only thing about that is it seems in La X that they don't remember the other timeline...maybe eventually they do remember.

and with the blood thing, if those items do flash, then there has to be lots of other stuff flashing around since all they do is bleed and cry!...

Makes sense about the soul splitting...still wondering why Jacob put MM's soul into JL (I know the purpose, but just don't get why it was Jacob to do it) and how he got it...and did JL have to die for MM to take over his body?...it sounded like that when he was talking about how pathetic John was...but there were times on the island when he seemed to be MM before he died.

it seemed to me that both Jack and John sorta remembered the other timeline, especially in the things they were saying to each other when they arrive at LAX. There is a clue in what Locke says about them not losing Jack's father, but losing his body ... other than the ordinary meaning.

MM is a liar ... what he says to Ben he says to manipulate him. It is true that John Locke was a big cry baby some of the time ... at other times he wasn't.

If Jacob did not die he would not be able to appear to Hurley on the Island to instruct him on how to save Sayid. and saving Sayid is very important to Jacob for some reason.
